WYDventures: Intramuros Revisited
Less than two months before WYD, visas already arrived… and we are just few inches from conquering Madrid!
Hence preparations for WYD are really tolling up. One of which was on June 4, we went around Intramuros for a long walk in order to prepare ourselves for the much anticipated heat and a lot of walking in Madrid. With the ambiance of Old Spanish style sprawling around Intramuros, walking around the walled city gave us a peak of a mini- Spanish town. Amidst the heat, we enjoyed every bit of the walk as we discovered the essence of Intramuros in our country’s history.
In few weeks, we would be gearing up for another long walk, and this time, in UP!
Back to Pisay, Back to ORI
On Thursday, June 30, an orientation/sem-started was held for the female students who have expressed interest in joining ORI (Optional Religious Instructions). The event took place in the ASTB Hall of Philippine Science High School. To start the program, an ice-breaker was prepared to facilitate the process of acquainting the students with the volunteers. This was followed by a brief welcome speech from Dainty, 3rd year high school, vice-president of SCA. For the main part of the program, Ms. Lorie Anda explained to both students and volunteers the mission of the Small Group Sessions, as well as the various activities that are held throughout the school year. To end the program was an entertainment number from a group of older students. After the program, ice cream was served, and the freshmen and their ORI volunteers were given ample time to get to know one another.
