The Aim

Women can take on their irreplaceable role in society and contribute to its progress in a responsible way only if they receive the right training and exposure.

The Instruments

  • An active learning environment — guided study, specialized tutorials, career orientation, intensive review, spacious libraries with select reference books.
  • An enhanced culture – fora and classes on current issues, art sessions, time management talks, media training and presentations, sports, concerts, excursions, etc.
  • A deeper social awareness and concern – rural and urban service projects, medical-dental missions, livelihood seminars, and catechism.
  • A healthy spirit – classes on personality and character
  • A venue for friendships and training ground of leaders

History

When Tanglaw opened its doors in 1967 at Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila, there was the conviction that learning was a lifelong process, that it involved the total development of a person and that it was well worth the investment.

The other side of Tanglaw’s ideal. A belief in the woman’s indispensable role in the service of society, in the workplace, and in the home.

In fulfillment of this, Tanglaw offers short courses and activities all year round: rural service projects, symposia on current issues and ethics, catechism and tutorial programs for school children, study seminars, language courses, professional development talks, excursions and sports activities.

An innovative concept that was premised on education in the human virtues and Christian ideals. Now in its present site along Examiner St. Quezon City, Tanglaw continues its commitment to the learning revolution.
