Interested to teach? Think about it…

Hey hey hey! The Tanglaw Catechism Club will have it’s first catechism seminar workshop on Saturday, August 21, Saturday, from 9am to 5:30pm. Registration fee is Php50.

Ms. Lorie Anda, PhilSci teacher will give a talk about “Why Teach Catechism” and Ms. Zyra Lentija will give a lecture on how to adapt to your student’s learning styles.

Be a catechist now!

“My thoughts turn next to the ever increasing number of children and young people born and brought up in non- Christian or at least non- practising home but who wish to know the Christian faith. They must be ensured a catechesis attuned to them, so that they will be able to grow more and more, in spite of the lack of support or even the opposition they meet in their surroundings”.

- Pope John Paul II, Catechesis in our Time no.42

Wait! Just one moment! Don’t change the page yet!

Hi, I was wondering if you have a spare minute to read this. It won’t take long.

Somewhere out there, there is a child named Angelo lies on a hospital bed with a fractures femur. His mother is ill and his father is in prison. His grandmother, a laundry woman, looks after him.

On another vacant lot, a family of 7 children lives. The father fixes shoes and umbrellas to earn a living. They stay under several spare wood put together for shelter.

In another area, several children are out of school because their parents cannot afford to send them to school.

Well, I just wanted to say that I care for these people and I was thinking of them when I was there on the cross. Yes, I died for them. Yes, they too are worth my body and blood just like you. It’s just that I need someone to show them that I care. Can you?

If you are willing and if you can, please contact my friends. You can refer to the flyer below. Thank you!!

What is Tanglaw Catechism Club?

The Tanglaw Catechism Club is an organization of female high school and university students, and working professionals.

Our Mission

The Tanglaw Catechism Club is committed in sharing God to other people in their respective social circles—family, home, universities, and workplace while extending their ordinary life into apostolate to other “fields of harvest” as they receive formation, give Catholic catechism classes, provide academic mentoring, and initiate projects for a Christian transformation of communities.

Message from members

I believe that catechism can change lives. And, who would wouldn’t want that change if it would bring those lives closer to Him? So start beind a catechist and start bringing others near the kingdom of God.

- Cathy

Love and be loved! Come and share the light! Join Tanglaw Catechism Club! When you see children smile, you’d surely be inspired to seek, learn and share more about God!

Come on girls! It’s more than teaching, it’s sharing the happiness you got because of knowing God.

Masayang magturo sa mga bata. Marami ka talagang matututunan sa kanila. Masaya rin silang kaama kasi palagi silang nakangiti. Magkakaroon ka pa ng kaibigan.

Palawan.

Mere mention of the name evokes fantastic images: historical sights, cultural experiences, wonderful beaches, eco-tourism spots for diving, snorkeling, trekking or just simple nature-tripping.  But like in almost all the more than 7000 islands of the Philippines, not all is perfect here. There are pockets of people needing assistance in many ways.

Make the best out of your summer. Volunteer!

Voluntourism hopes to address this. Organized by Tanglaw in collaboration with two other study centers, Balanghai and Iraya, volunteers will trek to Bgy. Tagburos , Puerto Princesa, on the 5th to the 10th of April for a different kind of adventure: repainting of the local school, conduct a leadership seminar, give reading tutorials and teach the basics of the faith to kids. Tourism has never been as enriching!
